Seiko Black Monster ( lume bezel , chapter ring mod)

This is my 3rd seiko the Seiko Skx779 aka Black Monster , given to me as a gift ( long story)

slight modded bezel , simple red markings.

strap has been changed to black leather with red stitchings….

Update : Watch has been matched with a SS bracelet . IMHO , its looks nicer and the bracelet matches the ‘heavy’ look of the timepiece better.

The Black Monster is truly what its name suggest . Thick and solidly built , many have raved about its durability under harsh conditions.

Time keeping has been good enough for me at +/- 10secs per day. Personally i do find the dial design abit “busy” for my liking as compared to the classic clean looks of a skx007 or skx009 but after having it for some time , you can not help but to admire the design of its watch case and slowly grow in love with the whole watch . Dial included.

the lume in my opinion is the best value the watch offers. Lume king.

Verdict: A must buy for seiko collectors as it has the ability to be a cult classic like the 6309s. Head turner with many good remarks along the way . Plus the number of after market parts slowly emerging now , variations to each’s watch should be easily attainable like the Skx007s.

Update> after looking at others’ mod to the bezel , decided to do the same.
